{ Gen & Al }

Today we take a look back at one of our favourite weddings from last season. Gen and Al who are based in London chose Vrede n Lust in beautiful Franschhoek for their special wedding day and what a magical day it was.

The palette of light pinks, greys, creams and whites were a beautiful compilation to create a soft rustic country style look for their wedding. We brought in a number of different elements to create texture and interest to the table arrangements. Vases were made up of rustic white ceramic bowls, antique silver goblets as well as traditional clear glass vases. A mixture of candle holders in different heights as well as crystal tealight votives made for ambient lighting on the tables. To bring in a slight rustic element we used wooden flower boards made out of pallets to elevate the vases and arrangements.

Massive king protea’s were a key feature in the arrangements and complimented with roses in various shades of pinks and creams made for a wonderful impact against a thick grey and white damask tablecloth.  With the venue’s grey undertones, and the use of a grey tablecloth, really allowed for the pinks of the flowers to pop and be the heroes of the table.

Despite it being an overcast and drizzly day, the atmosphere was made cosy by creating lounge pockets in the thatch barn for pre drinks and a large basket of throw blankets were available for guests to snuggle up and keep warm. As clichéd and cheesy as it sounds, the rest of the warmth really did come from the love that was emanated that day. Gen and Al were just such a wonderfully in love couple and the love from their families and friends was evident throughout the day.

It was an absolute joy creating and being a part of Gen and Al’s romantically natural chic wedding day and we wish nothing but happiness and prosperity for them. To check out the overall day click here to see their high lights video.
