{ PGP Gold Club Awards }

The roaring twenties, swing style theme is back in full force and we love it. That period in time was filled with an abundance of elegance, class, opulence and of course a lot of glamour; and who doesn’t love a bit of glamour?

Since the release of the Great Gatsby film, party throwers have been inspired by the over-the-top look that the era had and are using it as a template for their events. One such event that we were fortunate enough to be a part of was for Pam Golding Properties who hosted their Gold Club Awards in this specific theme.

Cape Town City Hall was chosen as the venue and what a magnificent venue it was to fit in with the look. Long banquet style tables were used for the majority of the seating with a few round tables placed on an elevated ramp. With it being an awards dinner we had to keep tall arrangements to a minimal to allow guests to see the stage, but we did manage squeeze in some fabulous crystal candelabras and tall feather arrangements to add to the texture.

Classic white and green floral’s were used for the arrangements in a mix of glass and antique silver vases. We wanted to keep the look very elegant and opted for full arrangements made up of roses, tulips, hydrangea’s, lillies, snowdons and stocks. No Gatsby style table is complete without a table lamp and so we added beautiful crystal table lamps perched on a mirror lightbox to add a little more pizazz to the tables. A thick textured gold and duck-egg blue tablecloth created a subtle yet effective pop of colour and interest to the overall look.

Nothing beats classic elegance and this particular event oozed just that. Thanks again to urbantonic for having us involved in this swinging success of a party.
